Drunk driving is a danger to Worcester residents

On Behalf of | May 30, 2019 | Car Accidents

The Memorial Day holiday weekend has come and gone and Massachusetts residents may now be ready to embrace the start of summer. As children gear up to end their academic programs, parents across the state may be scrambling to find activities to keep their kids busy. Their plans may include vacations, camps, and get-togethers with friends and loved ones.

As the weather heats up, so, too, do backyard grills and parties. During celebrations and outdoor events, Massachusetts residents may choose to indulge in alcoholic beverages, and if they are not careful, those drinks may cause them to make unwise decisions about their own health and safety. Every year, many Americans are harmed in car accidents caused by drunk drivers.

Drunk driving is similar to distracted driving because it puts an unsafe driver behind the wheel of a car. Drunk drivers are impaired, which means they do not have all of their faculties intact when they begin to operate. Alcohol can cause a range of serious symptoms, and the way that alcohol affects a person can depend greatly on their size, condition, and other factors.

Drunk drivers can make unwise choices when they drive, and those choices can result in dangerous and life-threatening accidents. In the wake of a drunk driving collision, a victim may not be prepared to take the legal action they need to recover their extensive losses. However, they can meet with a personal injury attorney to prepare their claims against the drunk driver whose negligence caused their pain and loss.
